Option 3 – Move a black piece.

Your hand tentatively drifts towards a random piece on the checkerboard. As your hand approaches the piece, you move it more and more slowly to prolong the game. Just before your hand reaches the plastic disc, you stop.

“Don't be a dick,” you beg.

The angel laughs. “Yeah, I was just screwing with you. You make it so very fun.”

She waves her hand over the board. The color of a few pieces shift to a rusty red, but black still outnumbers red by several multiples.

Most of your pieces are blocked in, unable to move. The best move available is to jump one of the angel's pieces along the left side, but that would open you up to a brutal counterattack...if she's any good at checkers.

But that isn't your only choice...
