Yesterday's Winning Vote:
Option 1 – Stay and listen.

You lean back in your chair, arms opened in feigned submissiveness. Behind you, the portal disappears. “Alright. Go ahead then.”

“You surely have noticed that there is a lot of pain in the world,” the archangel tells you, cupping his hands to symbolize Earth.

“Punishment for eating the forbidden fruit, right?”

The archangel frowns. “Yes—but also because of your free will, your soul. Humanity knows down in its core what is right and wrong, but these feelings get bogged down and lost because of the company you keep.”
“The Morning Star?” you query.

“Mostly his minions, but yes. However, that's not your fault either. The serpent could have been held in the garden, but he was cast out with Adam.” The archangel stand up and begins pacing along the edge of the cloud. “The real problem is that the clock has been running for far too long while the mice chew at its base.”

“So, wind the clock, then,” you tell him.

He shakes his head. “We would, we would...but that's not the issue here. We're looking for a man of the people, someone on the ground. Someone to act as the wind of God's hand as It is swung past the Earth.”

You stare at him without saying a word. Nervous moments pass before the archangel starts up again. “You are the only one who can fulfill this roll. You were wiped clean, and you have no sin. If you refuse...

Sensing the conversation is at a close, you stand and ask, “If I do this, how long will I live? Forever?”

The archangel shakes his head. “Hopefully long enough.” When you start to ask another question, he puts a finger to his lips and shushes you. “I have told you enough. Your time here is done. Choose and be gone.” The bright white portal reappears at the edge of the cloud.
