Yesterday's Winning Vote:
Option 1 - Go with her to the clinic.
Dizzily, you walk down the street, your arm around the woman's shoulder to keep you steady. Neither of you says anything for awhile. You stay quiet out of fear she'll leave, and you figure she's quiet due to regular fear.
"So, who kicked the crap out of you?" she asks, breaking the silence.
You shrug, almost falling over in the process. "Well, you know...tough neighborhood. The four-year-olds around here...shit!"
"Seriously, what really happened?"
You stop yourself from shrugging just in time. "Your guess is as good as mine."
She eyes you disdainfully. "Fine, I get it. You don't have to tell me."
In the distance, the large white building of the clinic comes into view. The steeple and thirty-foot cross on top of the building subtly hint at the building's previous purpose. Getting closer, you can see numerous graffiti sprayed and carved across the outside of the building including:
"Qvi tollis peccatta mvndi, dona eis reqviem."
"Dominvs virtvtem."
"Lvmen de Lvmine"
"Si vis pacem, para bellvm."
Smiling at the meaning, you say, "Interesting decorations for a clinic."
"Huh?" she looks at you confused, pulling you into through the building's front door. She grabs a clipboard from next to the door and pushes you into a chair. Several nurses in scrubs are walking patients in and out of rooms around you. Large gold crosses hang around the neck of each nurse.
"Name?"
You shake your head to clear it out. "Huh?"
The woman smiles meekly at you. "I'm sorry. I'm being rude. I'm Rachael...and your name is?"
A nurse walks past muttering, "Pater noster, qui es in..."
"Ummm..." you say, thinking hard. "I'm actually not sure."
Several other nurses walk past you, all speaking in perfect unison what you think is the Lord's Prayer:
"...regnum tuum. Fiat voluntas tua..."
"...tentationem, sed libera nos a malo..."
"How can you not be sure?" Rachael asks.
You start nervously following each nurse as they walk past. "Well..."
